How to make French Toast Bake
Our easy make-ahead French Toast Bake is the perfect way to welcome family and friends into your home. It’s also a hit at tailgates! The brioche bread takes this dish to the next level, while the eggs provide a good source of protein in this classic sweet treat. Ingredients
12 squares
- 8 brioche rolls, cut into quarters
- 8 eggs
- 2.5 c milk
- 1/2 c white sugar
- 2 Tablespoons vanilla
- 1/2 stick butter, cubed
- 1/2 c brown sugar
- 1/2 c flour
- 2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 c maple syrup
- powdered sugar, to taste
- blueberries, garnish
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- Whisk the eggs, then add the milk, sugar, and vanilla. Mix until well combined.
- Pour the egg and milk mixture over the bread, then press the bread down to fully absorb the liquid.
- Cover and refrigerate if you're making in advance.
- Place the butter, flour, and brown sugar in a large plastic bag. Knead the butter into the dry ingredients.
- Put bag in refrigerator if making in advance.
- When ready to bake, drizzle maple syrup evenly over the French toast bake.
- Bake for 1 hour or until French toast is brown and bubbly.
- Cut into squares, dust with powdered sugar, and top with blueberries.
